An agent is the AI-powered persona that represents your business in every conversation. Each agent has its own name, backstory, timezone, and tone settings — giving you full control over how your brand communicates with contacts. Before you can run a campaign, you need at least one agent configured and assigned to it.

Creating a new agent

1

Open the Agents page

In the left sidebar, click Agents. You’ll see a list of all agents in your workspace, along with their assigned campaigns and status.
2

Click Add Agent

Select Add Agent (or New Agent) in the top-right corner of the Agents page to open the agent creation form.
3

Set the agent name

Enter a display name for your agent. This is the name the agent will use when introducing itself to contacts.
Use a realistic first name that fits your brand — for example, “Alex” or “Jordan.” Keep the name consistent across campaigns so contacts who interact with multiple touchpoints recognize the same persona.
4

Define the agent identity

Fill in the persona details to give your agent a believable, human-like identity:
Use the Generate button to let Myna’s AI write a backstory and suggest personality traits automatically, based on your business profile and the details you’ve already filled in.
5

Select a timezone

Choose the timezone the agent operates in. This is a required field — it controls how the agent references times, business hours, and appointment scheduling in conversations.Select the timezone that matches your business location or the region where most of your contacts are located.
6

Configure tone settings (optional)

Scroll down to the Tone section. You can configure the agent’s humor, formality, enthusiasm, empathy, persuasiveness, creativity, punctuation style, emoji use, and response length. All of these settings are optional — sensible defaults are applied automatically.See Tone & Personality for a full explanation of every setting.
7

Attach a knowledge base (optional)

If you have product information, FAQs, or pricing details you want the agent to reference, attach a knowledge base here. Knowledge bases are created separately and can be shared across agents.See Knowledge Bases for instructions on creating one.
8

Save the agent

Click Save to create the agent. It will appear in your agents list with an Inactive status until it is assigned to a campaign.

Assigning an agent to a campaign

Once your agent is created, you need to assign it to a campaign before it can start sending and receiving messages. You do this from the campaign’s settings, not from the Agents page.
1

Navigate to Campaigns

Click Campaigns in the left sidebar, then open the campaign you want to configure.
2

Select the agent

In the campaign settings, find the Agent field and choose your agent from the dropdown list.
3

Save the campaign

Save your changes. The agent’s status on the Agents page will update to Active once it has been assigned to at least one campaign.
An agent can be assigned to multiple campaigns simultaneously. This is useful when you want the same brand persona to handle different outreach efforts — for example, a follow-up campaign and a reactivation campaign running at the same time.

Managing existing agents

From the Agents page you can:
  • Edit any agent’s name, identity fields, timezone, or tone settings at any time — changes take effect immediately for new conversations
  • View assigned campaigns — each agent card shows which campaigns it is currently powering
  • Delete an agent — note that deleting an agent will remove it from any campaigns it is assigned to
Deleting an agent is permanent. Unassign the agent from all campaigns before deleting it to avoid disrupting active outreach.

Best practices

One agent per brand persona

Create a distinct agent for each brand voice or persona you operate. Mixing personas across a single agent leads to inconsistent customer experiences.

Match the name to your brand

Choose a name that feels natural for your industry. A casual solar lead gen campaign may suit “Jake,” while a formal financial services campaign may suit “Catherine.”

Keep the backstory concise

Two to four sentences is enough. A specific, memorable detail — like a hobby or a quirk — makes the agent feel more human without creating details the AI will struggle to support in conversation.

Test before going live

Use the Playground to send test messages and verify the agent’s tone and responses before assigning it to a live campaign.
