Every Myna campaign uses a structured message sequence to reach leads at the right moments. The sequence has three stages: an opening intro message, one or more timed follow-up messages, and a closing final message. Each message can either be personalized by the AI in real time or sent exactly as you wrote it, word for word.

The three message types

Intro Message

Sent when a contact first enters the campaign. This is your agent’s opening line.

Follow-Up Messages

A timed sequence of messages sent when a contact hasn’t responded. Each step has its own delay, content, and channel.

Final Message

Sent when the sequence ends or the contact reaches the message cap. A graceful closing message.

Intro message

The intro message is the first thing your contacts receive when they enter a campaign. Configure it by clicking the Intro Message card in the campaign editor. In addition to the message content, the intro has two optional delivery controls:
  • Intro Delay — Set a number of hours to wait before sending the first message after a contact is enrolled. Use this if you want to let newly imported leads “age” before outreach begins.
  • Intro Channel Override — Send the intro on a different channel than the campaign default. For example, you might open with an email even if the campaign primarily uses SMS.
The opt-in message is always appended verbatim to the end of the intro, regardless of whether the intro itself is AI-generated or verbatim. You cannot disable this append — it is required for compliance.

Follow-up messages

Follow-up messages fire automatically when a contact goes silent. Each step in the sequence defines:
  • Delay (hours) — How long to wait after the previous message before sending this one. For example, set 24 to follow up one day later.
  • Message — The content to send at this step.
  • Channel — Which channel to use for this specific step, allowing you to alternate between SMS and email.
Add as many follow-up steps as your sequence requires. Steps run in order from top to bottom.

Final message

The final message is sent when either of these conditions is met:
  • The contact completes the entire follow-up sequence without responding.
  • The contact reaches the campaign’s message cap (objection limit).
After the final message is sent, the contact is classified as Warm or Cold and marked inactive in the campaign.

AI toggle: generated vs. verbatim

Each individual message — intro, every follow-up step, and the final message — has its own AI toggle that controls how the content is delivered.
With AI enabled, Myna treats your configured message text as guidance. The LLM reads your draft, considers the contact’s details and conversation history, and generates a personalized version before sending. No two messages will read identically.Best for: natural outreach where personalization matters, warmer tones, and campaigns where flexibility improves response rates. The AI still honors the spirit of your written text — it won’t go off-topic or ignore your instructions.

Merge fields for verbatim messages

When you write a verbatim message, you can insert merge fields to personalize it with each contact’s data. Merge fields are resolved at the moment the message is sent. Syntax: {{field_name}} or {{field_name | Fallback Text}} If a field is empty or unknown, Myna replaces it with the fallback value you provide after the |. If no fallback is set, the token is replaced with an empty string.
Fallback example:
If first_name is missing, the message reads “Hi there”. If city is missing, it reads “your area”.
Use the merge field inserter in the message editor to browse and insert fields without typing them manually. A preview shows how the message will render with a sample contact.
Merge fields are resolved at send time in verbatim mode. When AI is enabled, the LLM already personalizes using the contact’s details — merge tokens in your guidance text are passed through to the model and resolved naturally, so you don’t need to add them explicitly.
