Your contacts are the foundation of every Myna campaign. Each contact represents a person your AI agent will reach out to — and every piece of information you store on that contact helps the agent personalize its conversations and track progress toward your goals.

Core Contact Fields

Every contact in Myna has a set of standard fields. The table below describes what each field captures and how it is used.

Adding a Contact Manually

1

Open Contacts

Navigate to Contacts in the left sidebar and click Add Contact.
2

Fill in contact details

Enter the contact’s first and last name, phone number (required), and any other fields that apply — email, address, lead source, and so on.
3

Assign a contact type and campaign

Set the Contact Type (Lead, Customer, or Employee) and optionally assign the contact to an existing Campaign.
4

Add tags (optional)

Select one or more tags to segment this contact. You can create new tags inline if needed.
5

Save the contact

Click Save. The contact is immediately available in your contact list and ready to be enrolled in a campaign.

Importing Contacts via CSV

Use CSV import to add contacts in bulk. The import process accepts CSV or Excel files and supports up to 2,000 contacts per file.
1

Prepare your spreadsheet

Create a CSV or Excel file with at least a phone column. Optional columns include first_name, last_name, email, address, street_address, city, state, zip_code, country, and notes. Column headers must match these names exactly.
2

Open the import dialog

Go to Contacts and click Import Contacts (or the upload icon). Select your CSV or Excel file.
3

Set import options

Choose a Lead Source to apply to all imported contacts. Optionally, select a Campaign to enroll them in immediately and any Tags to attach.
4

Review and confirm

Myna previews the import. Contacts with duplicate phone numbers are skipped. Click Import to proceed.
5

Check the results

After the import completes, a summary shows how many contacts were created, skipped (duplicates), and any rows that had errors.
Contacts imported without a campaign assignment will be set to Unassigned status. You can enroll them in a campaign from the contact list or the contact detail page at any time.

Syncing Contacts from GoHighLevel

If your workspace is connected to GoHighLevel, you can import contacts directly from your GHL sub-account. See the GoHighLevel integration guide for step-by-step instructions on connecting and running a contact sync.

Managing a Contact

Click any contact in the list to open the contact detail view. From here you can:
  • Edit contact fields — Update name, email, address, deal value, or any custom field.
  • Change campaign status — Move the contact to a different status stage or reassign them to a different campaign.
  • View message history — See the full conversation thread between the AI agent and this contact.
  • Add notes — Leave internal notes for your team that are not sent to the contact.
  • Attach files — Upload documents or images associated with this contact.
  • Start a campaign — Enroll this contact in a campaign directly from the detail page by assigning them to the campaign and setting their status to Preparing Campaign.

User Takeover

When you need to step into a conversation personally, toggle User Takeover on the contact. This pauses all AI responses for that contact so you can reply manually.
While User Takeover is active, Myna will not send any automated messages to the contact — the AI is completely paused. Toggle it off when you are done to resume normal AI-driven messaging.
You can also enable User Takeover from the Conversations view without navigating to the contact detail page.

Starring a Contact

Click the star icon on any contact to mark it as starred. Starred contacts appear in the Starred filter in the Conversations view, making it easy to find your most important leads at a glance. Click the star again to remove it.

Viewing Contacts in Kanban Mode

Switch between List and Kanban views using the toggle in the top-right of the Contacts page. Kanban mode groups contacts by status so you can see your pipeline at a glance and track how leads are moving through each stage.
Use the Search bar to quickly find a contact by name, phone number, or email — especially useful when your contact list grows large.
