Tone and personality are what make a Myna agent feel like a real person rather than a chatbot. Every dimension you configure is injected directly into the agent’s system prompt and honored in every message — so changes you make here have an immediate and tangible effect on how your agent writes. The eleven tone settings below give you precise control over the agent’s voice, from broad personality traits down to punctuation habits. You’ll find all tone settings inside an agent’s configuration form under the Tone section.
All tone settings are optional. If you leave a setting unset, Myna applies a sensible default. You can also use the Generate button on the agent form to let the AI suggest a cohesive tone combination based on your business profile.

Personality dimensions

Controls how often and how boldly the agent uses humor in responses. Choose the level that matches your brand’s voice.
Absurd humor is explicitly unfiltered and may generate responses that are inappropriate for professional or regulated industries. Use this setting only for audiences where edgy, irreverent humor is expected and accepted. It is not suitable for healthcare, financial services, or B2B contexts.
Sets the overall language register — how polished or casual the agent’s writing feels.
Adaptive is a strong default for most use cases. The agent will naturally mirror a relaxed contact and match a professional tone with a more formal one, without you needing to tune it manually.
Controls how much visible energy and positivity the agent brings to each response.
Governs how much the agent acknowledges and engages with a contact’s personal situation or emotional state.
Determines how assertively the agent steers contacts toward a desired action (such as booking an appointment).
Aggressive persuasion is modeled on a high-pressure sales style. It is designed to push hard toward a result and rarely accepts “no.” This setting is inappropriate for most consumer-facing use cases and may violate carrier messaging guidelines if perceived as harassment. Use Assertive or Balanced instead for the vast majority of campaigns.
Controls how inventive and expressive the agent’s language is — from plain and literal to imaginative and vivid.

Style and formatting options

An on/off toggle that makes the agent intentionally introduce spelling mistakes to feel more human and text-native.
Turning this On can dramatically increase open and response rates for SMS campaigns targeting younger, consumer audiences — the messages feel like they came from a real person texting on a phone, not a corporate system.
An on/off toggle that enables informal street slang, internet abbreviations, and colloquial expressions.
Sets how strictly the agent follows punctuation rules.
Controls how frequently the agent includes emojis in its responses.
Sets the target word count range for each agent reply.
Response length is a guideline, not a hard rule. The agent will prioritize clarity and moving the conversation toward its goal — if a slightly longer message is needed to explain value or handle an objection, it may exceed the guideline slightly.
Different industries and campaign types benefit from different combinations of tone settings. The table below gives you a starting point.
After configuring tone settings, head to the Playground to send test messages and confirm the agent’s voice matches your expectations before assigning it to a live campaign.
